General Mills/LegalCORPS Program Adds IP Advice Option
LegalCORPS and the General Mills corporate legal department are teaming up to provide an additional option for low-income entrepreneurs seeking free legal advice about intellectual property.
In a new, joint brief advice program, LegalCORPS will refer clients who meet income guidelines and need intellectual property counseling to the General Mills legal department. Volunteer General Mills attorneys will provide free advice on patents, trademarks, licensing rights, confidentiality and other IP-related questions. The attorneys also will counsel clients about general business law issues related to their intellectual property.
LegalCORPS will refer eligible clients who either have contacted the organization directly or have been referred by volunteer attorneys at LegalCORPS brief advice clinics for intellectual property counseling.
The General Mills legal department and clients will schedule free sessions at mutually viable times at the General Mills corporate headquarters at I-394 and Highway 169 in Golden Valley. (For possible referral, contact LegalCORPS at email@example.com or at 612-26-0780.)
LegalCORPS brief advice clinics on the fourth Friday of each month in St. Louis Park will continue to be devoted exclusively to intellectual property issues. LegalCORPS brief advice clinics on the first Tuesday of each month in St. Paul will continue to feature an intellectual property lawyer. For schedules and locations of those clinics, see the page on this web site about brief advice clinics.
