Upcoming Public Workshops  

LegalCORPS volunteer lawyers will provide helpful information on small business legal topics at a number of upcoming public workshops:


  • Sat., Sept. 11 and Sat., Nov. 6, 10 a.m. to noon: "Choosing the Right Form of Business Ownership." Understand the business, legal and tax implications of each ownership option. LegalCORPS' P. Arthur Moe will explain forms of business organization including sole proprietorships, partnerships and incorporation, and identify the factors to consider when choosing the most suitable business structure. Time for questions and discussion follows presentation.  Get more information, and register for this free workshop at the Minneapolis Central Library at the Hennepin County Library System's site.
  • Saturday, Oct. 16, 1:30–4:30 p.m.: "Traps and Pitfalls in Intellectual Property." Free workshop at the Minneapolis Central Library.  LegalCORPS volunteer and patent attorney Roger Belfay will explain how inventors and business entrepreneurs can use patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets to protect their legal rights. The patent and trademark librarian will highlight services and resources available.  Registration required. Register online at the Hennepin County Library System's site or call 952.847.8000.
