LegalCORPS will present an extraordinary event Thursday, October 6, as its 2016 Annual Fundraiser & Volunteer Celebration.   Showcasing LegalCORPS’s Entrepreneurs of Color Program, this year’s event will feature Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development Commissioner Shawntera Hardy as keynote speaker — and a special performance by Sounds of Blackness, the Grammy Award-winning vocal group.   It also will include recognition of the 2016 LegalCORPS Volunteer of the Year.

This will take place from 5:30-7:30pm at St. Thomas University’s School of Law in the Schulze Grand Atrium (11th Street & LaSalle Avenue in Minneapolis).  This reception will also feature hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, networking, and volunteer recognitions, along with a silent auction and a raffle – for a Toro snowthrower.

The event provides important sources of financial support for our mission – to provide free transactional business law assistance to low-income entrepreneurs and small nonprofits in Minnesota, through the services of volunteer attorneys.  Moderately priced sponsorships include 10 admissions to the reception, and the sponsor’s name displayed for all to see – both at the event and on LegalCORPS social media and web site.
