Ways We Can Help

LegalCORPS delivers legal assistance to low-income owners of small businesses in two basic ways:

Brief Advice Clinics:  Low-income individuals who own or are starting a small business in Minnesota can receive up to 30 minutes of free advice on their business law issues.   For this brief-advice service, LegalCORPS offers regular in-person clinics and clinics conducted by video conference.    When circumstances make it impossible for people to attend a clinic, LegalCORPS sometimes can arrange brief advice by phone.

For details on locations, schedules and how to seek free brief advice through LegalCORPS, see Brief Advice Clinics.

Full-Representation Assistance:  For individuals who need more assistance with their small business matters than a brief-advice setting can provide, LegalCORPS can arrange full-representation assistance — the equivalent of fee-paying representation.   To determine applicants’ eligibility for such free assistance, LegalCORPS applies income guidelines and considers other factors affecting suitability for free assistance.

For information on eligibility and how to apply for such assistance, see Full-Representation Assistance.
