Brief Advice

LegalCORPS conducts regularly scheduled free brief advice business law clinics, where participants can receive up to 30 minutes of guidance or the opportunity to ask questions on transactional business law matters. We have four different types of clinics available: general business law, intellectual property law, nonprofit law, and clinics for small business landlords. With both virtual and in-person options available, there is sure to be a space to suit your needs.

Confidential Legal Business Advice

Brief Advice Clinics are protected by attorney/client privilege. Any sensitive information shared in pursuit of legal advice with the pro bono lawyer is confidential. That way, a client’s private business matters remain private, which allows the communities we serve to engage in open and honest conversations. In this way, we can offer the best legal advice available and help protect our community entrepreneurs and nonprofits during critical stages of their startup, operations and expansion.

Customized Conversations

When speaking with a LegalCORPS pro bono lawyer, each brief advice clinic is customized to the client’s needs. While there is standard legal advice based on law and precedent, there is no cookie-cutter method to address an individual’s concerns. We approach our brief advice clinics with empathy, professionalism, and cultural understanding, ensuring we have the full scope of the situation while fostering an environment of trust, empowerment, and collaboration.

Brief Advice Clinics Open to All

While many programs require applications and pre-qualification for participation, the LegalCORPS brief advice clinics are inclusive and open to all, regardless of income. If you are an entrepreneur, small business owner,  inventor, or nonprofit organization in need of legal guidance on a transactional business law matter, we encourage you to book a slot.

Please call us to schedule your consultation today at (612) 206-0780 for entrepreneurs, business owners and nonprofits, and (651) 583-5979 for inventors, or click on the Request Assistance button at the bottom of the page.
